Also, captchas are not so bad after all. I am not asking you to upgrade
everybody to the latest version of any other web browser that some of you
won't like to use, however, I do want to point out that, using the Web
plugin for Mozilla Firefox browser, called Web Visum, I can solve captchas
just as effectively and as successful as any other sighted person can. Yes,
I know this by personal experience. I have tried solving captchas through
that service, and it does really work.
When you come across a page that requires a captcha solution, if you don't
like the firefox browser, you can just use the firefox browser momentarily
to solve that captcha and continue with registration / data entry, if any,
and then go back to your preferred default browser as needed to continue
using your information, if entered.

But, yes, if you haven't done so already, you can install the Mozilla
Firefox Browser, and then go to http://www.webVisum.com/ to get the web
visum plug in to solve captchas. There are downsides to all this, of course,
like what if the services is down? And what if the owners of the site /
services discontinue the web visum service? But, in the mean time and while
we are in the midst of getting all of this captcha security straightened
out, we can use that alternative and it is in your hands. Just my 20 cents.

If you want, for those who are not signed up for the service yet, you are
welcome to request me to give you a code that you'll probably have to enter
(because although it does not use captchas itself, you either have to
explain about your blindness and get it approved while registration for the
site to use the plugin, or request someone as your "inviter" and get a
code.)

HI,
We need to do something about captchas here. They are such a nuisance and
sometimes make it impossible to fill something out even though the whole
rest of a form is very accessible. I've even gotten audio captchas that are

totally terrible! There is no way I can hear the words or numbers
correctly. Then there are sites where all you have to do is type in the
answer to a simple math problem like what is 4 plus 2 and it works! Why
can't they all do something simple like that? Captchas are one of my pet
peeves!
Thanks
Lauren

that encourager for others in need." --Bob Patterson
