[NFBCS] Potential for a spin-off list

According to NFB net, there is a list for the committee on the promotion of
assistive technology, and an electronics talk mailing list as well.
Those I believe should be the location for other topics such as
troubleshooting tech support related issues, or open source fitness tracking
apps.
Although I feel that efforts to advertise those lists instead might be
negated, as ultimately people would post whatever they wish.
I do agree though however that some effort could be made to keep the list
more on-topic, administratively with the rules.
As far as shifting those topics to other lists, I don't know what their
traffic is like or if there are existing efforts to shunt some of these
topics elsewhere.
At the same time I am recognizing that it might be a hard line to decide
what should be in the NFBCs list and what shouldn't as there is frequently
overlap.

Subject: [NFBCS] Potential for a spin-off list
Hi,
When I joined NFBCS, it mostly looked like it was going to be for discussion
of comp-sci related topics. It feels more and more these days that it's just
a basic tech support list. Is there a chance in splitting off so we can stay
semi-topical and allow people to still get their questions about which cd
burning programs to use answered, for example?
Thanks,
