How do I enable windows8 to show me the percentage of download as it is downloading in a separate window?  In addition how do I enable it to play a sound to indicate when a file is finished downloading?  In it's out of the box configuration it doesn't seem to open a window when files download.  No information is given when the download is finished.  As a result of this I found 7 different version titles of the same file in my downloads folder when I checked there. I am using jfw14.
 Why oh why did the folks at microsoft mess around with the user interface!  I don't mind under the hood upgrades to make a system perform better, faster, and more efficiently but radically changing the user interface is like moving the steering wheel of an automobile from the left side to the top of the roof of the vehicle.  Lol!  Any information would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
