Their web site is not quite as accessible as you would think...  
but you can use the mobile version of their web site.  Once you 
sign up for Facebook account, you can then go to
http://m.facebook.com/
and sign in with your username and password.  This is the mobile 
site, but it is more accessible than the regular site.  I hope
