[NFBWATlk] Again, what is the meeting tally tonight on the Rookie Roundup?

Expecting a politician, of whatever party, to keep politics out of a public speech is like expecting a rattlesnake not to have venom. They all do it, no matter what party.

One of the beauties of the NFB is that all who believe as we do about blindness are welcome. That means Donald Trump fans and Joe Biden fans. We're welcoming to all because we know our job is to educate on blindness.

I think NFB may be one organization that can bridge the political and social divides in the United States because we focus on matters where bipartisanship is still possible. I haven't lived in the country for years, but I continue to be convinced that most Americans find deep agreement when questions are not phrased in explicitly political terms. If guests at our convention want to push one agenda or another, they were invited and we are courteous hosts. Their views, whatever they may be, do not necessarily reflect the views of the National Federation of the Blind. I hope we get firm commitments for sponsorship and support of our initiatives. Two hundred eighteen votes in the House of Representatives and fifty-one votes in the Senate are necessary, and we hope they come from both parties.

Hi, Kris,

I was interested in the number on the call, I did make note of the convention number of registrants.

If you are speaking of Nancy Pelosi? Absolutely not!!!!! Negatory, no way! If she will keep her politization out of her speech and stick solely on issues concerning the blind, that would work. I pray the powers that be will advise her to do so.

No doubt, Nikki will do a great job, and looking forward to being on the call with all the great people. Enjoy the day, and thanks.

Judy

The registration number was 7251! Very exciting! And did you hear who was going to be addressing the convention on Friday?

Nikki Palm is going to give a summary of the rookie round up at our meeting Thursday night in case anybody missed it.
