[NFBWATLK] The Subject is Baseball

Love this! Today is the official first day of spring and baseball
commences. I wholeheartedly approve of making baseball a blindness topic on
this list. Go Mariners! I'd say "Go Detroit Tigers," but I'm afraid I
already know where they're going this year. Nowhere!

In honor of Mike Freeman, who as most of us know was the excellent moderator
of this list, encouraged discussions of all things blindness related, and
also recognized the mariners, Seahawks and Mexican food topics as well. So,
I just want to post here, that the Mariners won the first regular season of
the year against Oakland within the last hour. The game was played in Tokyo,
and started at 2:35 AM (Pacific) this morning. It was a strange phenomenon
to be listening to the end of a baseball game on the bus as I was coming
*in* to work. If the Ms are on the East Coast, I can sometimes listen to the
beginning of the game on the way home in the afternoon. If I hadn't been
paying attention, I might have missed my stop downtown. (grin.) There will
be the second and final regular season game from Japan tomorrow at the same
time, so I can do this two days in a row. Amazing what amuses some people,
huh!

... The final score was the mariners 9, and the As 7.
