Research Title: Evaluating Screen-Reader Perceptions of AI-Generated HTML Navigation Components

Being conducted by: Rayo Lab Pte Ltd

Purpose of the Study

We are benchmarking how blind and low-vision developers perceive the accessibility of AI-generated HTML snippets. Participants will rate multiple navigation components on accessibility quality, effort required to fix issues, and production readiness. Their judgments will help us understand where AI systems align/ or fail to align with real-world screen-reader expertise.

Role of the Participants and Anticipated Length of the Study

Each participant opens a single HTML evaluation page, reviews 10 AI-generated navigation samples (~100–200 lines each), interacts with the live preview using their screen reader, answers three Likert-scale questions per sample, and writes optional issue notes plus overall comments. The session is self-paced and typically takes 30–45 minutes, including recording and exporting results.

Proposed Participant Compensation

Yes, Yes. Participants receive up to $50 USD, with the amount tied to completeness of the submission, depth of feedback and ability to conduct independent test.

Link or Instructions for Participants to Enter the Study

Interested participants can email dung at therayo.com with their primary screen reader, browser, and availability. After validating that their experience is suitable for the pilot, we will then send the consent form and the .html file along with detailed instructions for completing and returning the evaluation. Because the pilot is validating accessibility quality at a professional standard, we’re prioritizing testers with substantial experience shipping or auditing production web code. We’re reviewing a limited number of candidates, and keeping the process focused ensures fairness for those whose experience closely matches the study requirements.
