[nfbwatlk] Anybody know about Facebook and photo albums?

I can see that this thread merits a response (I was going to ignore it and
just let you members rant!).

First, we *do* have a Facebook page; Marci Carpenter is in charge of it. If
you are dissatisfied with it or have ideas for changes that might make the
page more appealing while not making the task so onerous that Marci doesn't
want to take it on, please contact her.

Second, it takes participants submitting photos -- photogenic and otherwise
-- to make a Facebook photo wall worth viewing. Just dreaming about it won't
cut it. So I suggest that anyone who advocates photos for the wall has the
moral obligation to submit five photos to Marci.

Third, if Mr. Zuckerberg (sp) was as interested in easy information access
by all as he is in prophets, I submit he'd make a simple interface that
didn't change every seventy-five nanoseconds. I just don't think it's worth
the heartburn of continuously learning a Facebook interface in order to
engage in what I consider vacuous trivialities for conversation. Anyone who
wishes to exchange ideas with me knows they can write to k7uij at panix.com,
text me at (360) 241-5273 or contact me on HeyTell.

Fourth, speaking of HeyTell, may I remind all those with iPhones that there
is an NFB of WA HeyTell group and you can text or email me, requesting that
I add you to the group. So far, the group rules seem to reflect those of
this group -- blindness- or NFB-related and Mariners and Seahawk
conversation although I confess that Walt Cone and I have strayed a bit to
*all* the baseball playoffs.

Cheers!

Mike Freeman, President
NFB of Washington

P.S. I'll issue a challenge of my own -- I don't know what the prize is but
... How about the challenge of getting Gary Mackenstadt proficient with an
iPhone? (YEE HAW)

It all depends on who is putting up money for the affiliate for me to
take this challenge on. :)

But if we had a Facebook page with riveting pictures of our chapter's
events, and descriptions of course, it would appeal to lots of people.
