[nfbwatlk] Mariners trade Ichiro

Well as a Mariner fan I am sad because we developed another player for the
Yankees and we as fans pay major league prices to watch our minor league
team play major league baseball.

I heard the news conference and was kind of sad when Howard Lincoln
said there were no plans to sell the mariners. I think that is the only way
way the M's will have a shot at anything is if another owner or group buys
the team and wants to work for something besides more years and years of
rebuilding the team only to trade the talent they have to other teams for
nothing so they can keep rebuilding.

Better notice would have been to send the whole team down to single-A for a
month.

Yes, that's right baseball fans. The Mariners have traded Ichiro to the
Yankees. Press conference coming at 4 p.m. Seattle time. I know many think
of him as the face of the M's, but his batting average was only in the 270's
last year and the 260's this year. This will make more room for younger
players, and hopefully put the rest of the players on notice; no player is
irreplaceable.
