[nfbwatlk] Reminder of Seattle Chapter Meeting

Hello All,

Just a reminder that you don't want to miss this month's meeting ofr
the Seattle Chapter of the NFBW. We meet every third Saturday at the
downtown Seattle YMCA, 909 4th St between Madison and Marion. We start
our meeting at 10:00 am and finish up around noon. This month we have
alot of information to cover.

Danielle King will be joining us. She will be bringing the new model
of the Digital Talking Book device that the Washington Talking Book
and Braille Library will be using soon. She will update us with the
arrival time of the borrower's devices, who will be offered the
devices first and so on. You won't want to miss this.

Also, Janet George from DSB will be joining us this Saturday. She will
be telling us about the Day Camp for blind youths that will be
happening in July. This is a great opportunity for our chapter to
stretch out a hand and welcome these youths and their families into
our organization.

We will also be talking about the NFB National Convention. There are
alot of little details to cover and if you are going to the National
Convention you won't want to miss this meeting. The chapter is able to
grant chapter members who are attending the convention $50. You must
be present at the meeting to receive your check unless you have spoken
with me earlier. Another few items will be discussed at our meeting.

The chapter picnic next month. Kay will be chairing the picnic
committee this year. She is offering her place and we truly appreciate
it. Kay will be looking for people to help her and giving details at
the meeting. Please be prepared to give Doug $10 per person for those
attending the picnic. Menu and specifics will be discussed on
Saturday.

We also have the Braille Coin Raffle this month. Sell those tickets!!
If you want to purchase tickets or sell tickets before Saturday give
me a jingle. Tickets are $3 for 1 and $5 for 2. We are drawing for two
coins. The first person's name drawn will get to choose either the
uncirculated coin or the proof coin. The second person will receive
the other coin. Also, the person selling the winning ticket will
receive a $10 gift card from Starbucks.

We also have the the monthly drawing for our doorprize money. The
jackpot is up to $15 this month. That means that no one received the
$5 prize the past two months. To be included in this drawing all you
need is to ensure that you hae paid up your dues for the year. Every
member's name is in the hat. So be sure to attend the meeting and you
may walk away with a bit of extra green this month!
