The below research participant solicitation is being provided for informational purposes only. The National Federation of the Blind has no involvement in this research, but we believe that it may contribute to our research mission.

 

Research Title: Examining Sexual Experiences among Blind and Low Vision Adults

 

Being conducted by: Indiana University

 

Purpose of the Study

The purpose of this study is to better understand blind and low vision adults’ sexual experiences, particularly how they navigate consent communication, as well as their recommendations for improving consent education.

 

Role of the Participants and Anticipated Length of the Study 

Interested participants can complete an eligibility survey via Qualtrics. The survey will take 5-10 minutes. Participants who meet eligibility criteria, express interest in participating, and provide their email will be contacted to schedule a Zoom interview. The one-on-one Zoom interview will last approximately 60–90 minutes, and prior to the interview, participants will provide verbal consent to participate and to be audio-recorded. The interview will include questions about sexual consent, relationships, and recommendations for consent education.

 

Proposed Participant Compensation

Yes, Following the completion of the interview, participants will receive an email within two weeks of participation containing their $30 e-gift card.
