I am pleased to be able to tell you about a new list. It is called
NFB-Conventions. It is a place where you can make convention-related
announcements, find a roommate etc. Below is the official description
and subscription information. Please read the description before you
submit any message as it will explain what is allowed, and what
isn't. Also, this is an announce-only list, so messages will be
checked before they are allowed on the list. It is also not a list
for discussion, just announcements. Here is the description.

This list is sponsored by the National
Federation of the Blind, NFB.

The name of this list is NFB-Conventions. The purpose of the list is
to support our members, Chapters, Divisions, and Affiliates in all
convention-related activities. The list is here to facilitate the
exchange of announcements related to both NFB National Convention and
conventions of NFB state affiliates held throughout the year.

Are you looking for a roommate, or do you have space in a hotel room,
then this is the place to let others know. Announcements concerning
streaming, the agenda,
related meetings, transportation arrangements, and other
convention-related matters are all appropriate
for this list. This is an announcement-only list. The list is
moderated -- which means all posts will be approved
before they appear on the list. Only NFB related fund-raising
messages will be allowed on this list on a limited basis (e.g. an
affiliate or national division may post one announcement regarding
its offerings at the exhibit table at the national convention).
Please include contact information on all message submissions.

This is also not a forum for messages or announcements from
Exhibitors or Vendors. These restrictions are intended to make the
list most useful to those seeking information about NFB conventions.

The list is moderated by David Andrews. You can reach him at:

david.andrews at nfbnet.org

You should also contact him concerning technical problems.

To subscribe to the list you can either go to:

or send e-mail to nfb-conventions-request at nfbnet.org and put the word
subscribe on the subject line.
