Activities and Information at the NFB 2018 National Convention to
Empower Blind, Low Vision, and Deaf-Blind Voters

Accessible Vote-By-Mail Workshop

In this era of paper ballots and vote-by-mail, our right to cast a
private, independent, and secret ballot cannot be taken for granted.
As the number of states that are considering and converting to all
vote-by-mail continues to increase, it is imperative that we have the
knowledge and tools necessary to ensure that voting remains accessible.

The information you will need to ensure accessibility when your state
starts the process to convert to all vote-by-mail can be learned at
"How to Advocate for Accessibility with the Vote-By-Mail Toolkit" on
Saturday, July 7, 7:00 PM, in Wekiwa 4 at the NFB national convention
in Orlando, You will learn how to use the tools in the accessible
vote-by-mail toolkit to ensure that blind, low vision, and deaf-blind
voters are provided an equal opportunity to vote privately and
independently in vote-by-mail elections.

Voter Guides and Information

Stop by the free literature area at convention to pick up the revised
Guide for Blind and Low vision Voters. This guide explains the rights
of blind voters, why it is important to vote, how accessible voting
machines work, and provides a list of resources. Other voting related
guides that will be available in free literature include The Blind
Voter Registration Drive Guide, and the Blind Poll Worker Recruitment
flyer. All voting information Is available in English and Spanish,
Braille and large print.

Get empowered at the NFB National Convention and then exercise your
right to vote!
