[NAGDU] toys for hard chewers

The Goodybone is the bone with the holes at each end to stuff in treats, if desired.

Igloo has one, but he chewed off part of one pocket and then started to chew off more. It’s pretty sturdy, but can be attacked by a strong chewer. Once the end comes off, the bone can be easily chewed into pieces. But it takes a while for the end to get chewed off.

My dog loves his kong, but his two Goodybones are better for tug-of-war. The smaller of the Goodybones (not sure of the spelling) has threatened to break in two for maybe three years but remains united in service to my dog. I can find no serious tooth marks in the bigger one.

I admit that Sheldon does not seem to be a hard chewer. I nonetheless tossed out his Nylabone after a long time because small pieces came off it. The kongs and the Goodybones, which I think are also Kong products, seem quite safe.

Hi Paula,

My lab is a very hard chewer. Ny toy that is said to be for hard chewers with also have spikes in it is good for her for a few months anyway. There is a ball with soft spikes all over it we got from a friend and also a long thing that has soft spikes all over it and also squeaks she loves. That is her favorite. But when I begin feeling the spikes being chewed off, then I replace it. She chews pieces off those black Kong toys within days! I got the long favorite squeaky toy from amazon. Chewy does not ship out here to Hawaii. Maybe it would be cheaper there.

Good luck

Debbie Gabe

Hi all. Some time ago someone sent out good websites for dog toys for these labs who can chew through most anything. My vet does not approve of the really hard toys like antlers or natural bones or nylabones and the boys are getting bored with the old toys. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

God bless!
