[IL-Talk] September Chicago Chapter Program Item

Hello All,

I was able to confirm the program item for tomorrow's chapter meeting. We
will be joined in-person by Mike Milstein, Deputy Director of Outreach for
the Chicago Police Department. He will provide a presentation about CPD's
work in updating their policies around officer interactions with people with
disabilities. The CPD is engaging disabled organizations and the disabled
community on police interactions and the National Federation of the Blind of
Illinois - Chicago chapter was contacted for this presentation.

Mike's presentation will be about 10 minutes and then the floor will be
opened for questions and comments on how the CPD can interact effectively
with those who are blind or have low vision. So please bring your questions
and comments on this issue.

Mike informed me that the CPD is working on getting literature in Braille
and large print but it is not ready yet. He will leave any contact
information with us for future follow-up.
