[GUI-Talk] unable to add my gmail account to outlook

Hi all,
Awhile ago I created a gmail account and I've been trying to add it to outlook
(the desktop client) but I can't get it to work; after I sign into my Google
account and enter on the allow button to allow Microsoft to access my account I
get a message saying that something went wrong and that they were unable to
connect to the incoming Imap server and when I tab there's a link that says that
I may need to change some settings in gmail and when I enter on it says that I
either need to set up 2-factor authentication which I did but that didn't solve
the problem so I turned it off or generate an app password which I haven't done
because someone on another list told me that M365 doesn't require/even support
app passwords. I've added email accounts to outlook before without any issues so
I really don't understand why this isn't working especially when I haven't
changed any settings on my computer. I even tried adding it using Narrator with
the same result. Any ideas what could be wrong and what (if anything) I can do
to be able to add my account? I'm using the latest versions of JAWS, Microsoft
365 and Windows 11; really hope that someone can help me as I really hate to
have to give up.
