[GUI-Talk] problem putting e-mail on blind shell classic

Problem putting e-mail on blind shell classic. I use a Verizon e-mail and when I try putting the e-mail address on the blind shell I get connection error check network. Even my g mail account doesn’t work I get authenitication error and the only way to delete the e-mail address is to restore data. Please help.
