[gui-talk] Thunderbird Question

I have been using Thunderbird as my E-Mail client for the passed few 
years with no problems.

Do to a minor issue I have had to re-install the software.  Thing have 
been working fine except for one thing. After reading a message I hit 
alt f4 and that takes me out of the message window and back to the list 
view.  Ever since I have done the re-install when I hit the alt F 4 I 
get bounced out of the program all together.

When I bring up the program I am placed in the message again.  I have to 
move back in to the list view tab once again to get back to normal.

It is just two key strokes but a real pain in the neck to my work flow.

Can any one who is more familiar with Thunderbird get things on track?  
It is really a head scratcher.
