I have a Dell desktop, bought earlier this year. I found that if any
"enhancements" such as equalization, reverb, etc. were active, it made
character-at-a-time echo quite sluggish. In many instances I would not hear
the first syllable of a word or letter. So I found the checkbox in the
Windows audio playback settings (not in Dell Audio) to disable all
enhancements. This makes the speech far more responsive than it would be
otherwise. Since I was able to do this in the Windows audio controls, I
didn't care if Dell Audio was inaccessible, which it is with Window-Eyes. I
went through this exercise once while getting this computer set up with
Windows 7, and twice more when upgrading to Windows 10, and then on one of
the Windows 10 updates.

Windows 10 & sturring up a can of worms            Good morning all & Happy
Newyear.



As some of you know, I just installed Windows 10 earlier last week. Since
then I have tried to adjust the tone quality. There seems to be a problem
with dell audio and adjusting the tone quality. Thanks to Microsoft help
desk, they have been very helpful. I don't know if other computer companies
besides Dell are having the same problems. If any of you have Dell you might
want to contact them & convince them to fix this problem so that we can
change our own audio settings ourselves without sighted help.
