I have a 1tb drive that is in my laptop.  It has the os and naturally all the apps that I use installed.  It runs windows8 pro.  Is there a way to partition ;this drive to create a virtual d drive so that if I ever have to reformat the c drive the proposed new d drive won't be affected?  Can I do this without having to reformat and do everything from scratch on the c drive?  Any information would be appreciated.
