[gui-talk] FW: [Cavi-discuss] Webvisum in trouble?

Good afternoon list and Thanks Gerald.

This info is very helpful for those who are still using XP and were unable
to locate the host file through the path specified in the message I
forwarded from Ali Hajami, my CAVI colleague. I don't know what the path to
the host file would be in Vista, but perhaps someone more familiar with
Vista could enlighten us.

In any event, we are all immensely relieved that the Webvism domain outage
was temporary after all. This notwithstanding, I suspect NFB and ACB will
still need to make a concerted push to find a universally accessible
alternative to captchas for assuring human rather than automated data input
when creating or modifying an online account or doing ecommerce. Thanks
again for the info.

Best regards,
Rob "jayhawker" Tabor

As I reported yesterday morning, Webvisum is up and running again, so it is
no longer necessary to modify the Hosts file to get it to work. BTW, on
some XP systems, the Hosts file is located at C:\I386\Hosts, not
C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.

Gerald
