[gui-talk] A Windows Update issue

Thanks Steve.  I'm not having any problem, other than noticing the Windows 
Updates aren't being installed.  I think the last one which was installed 
successfully was June 5.

I had a similar error with that same version of the Microsoft Net
framework.  Having the same fear, I put it off, and eventually the
update worked.  I suspect that an alternate update was applied at some
point.  It did not seem to prevent any other updates from installing.
If you don't notice any particular problem, I'd suggest waiting a month
and then checking again to see if you still get an error.  I did some
searching and read a lot of different approaches to this but it appeared
to me that many of the fixes either were more general than this problem
or didn't make much of a guarantee that the problem would be solved.
