It is risky, and probably worthless to say, "one screen reading program 
is better than another."  It depends on the applications you need to 
use, computer, version of windows, skill level, what your friends use, 
etc.  There is no best for all situations.  Certainly NVDA is a good 
program  and getting  better all the time, but it also doesn't have the 
scriptability and customization that JAWS has that can be useful in 
employment situations.
