Hey, hope you are satisfied with your purchase! I saw that in my qvc mail
this morning and wondered if it would be a popular item. There must be a
catch -- seems like a low price for 3 processors, 6GB ram and 500GB hard
drive. If I hadn't already bought another notebook from Walmart I would
probably have bitten on this one.
Good luck and please post your experience using it.
Oh, btw, you have several choices for a mailer. Seems as if OE and its dbx
mailboxes are obsolete now. I hear a lot of complaints on the windows7 list
about windows live mail. Some recommend thunderbird, which has jaws
scripts. You can import mail to thunderbird from OE files.
There is also outlook, if you have a copy of Office7. Someone else
recommends eudora.
I personally prefer something that can import my OE files and preserve not
just the mailboxes, but the address book data, and the group lists in my
address book. I think I will choose thunderbird. Meanwhile, I am still
using OE on my old rickety xp notebook.
Good luck!

Subject: [gui-talk] new 64 bit computer

Hello Everyone,
Well today I bought a Del 64 bit computer from QVC.
It was a great price and had everything I felt I needed in a computer.
My questions are:
Is there a special way to set up the computer so JAWS can work well,
similar to the XP OS?
I will be running JAWS 12.X
It will not have "outlook" as a Email program, therefore what Email program
will work well with the 64 bit OS with JAWS?
I will need a converter for "PDF's", what program should I use?
The Computer will have 6 GZs of RAM with a 500 GZ. hard drive.
If anyone has any tips for using my new computer you may contact me off line
at:
blume at verizon.net
Thanks!
