Hello to all,
Here we come with the new V1.12 of MaPlEr.
We have included many new things, especially global hotkeys and new
bookmark system and MaPlEr is now Win7-ready.
The "What's new" is at the end of this mail. So if you want to update
MaPlEr, just go to "help" and select "search for update".
Best regards from germany and we are looking for your feedback,
questions and suggestions!

What's new in V1.12.0:
new features
- MaPlEr is now Vista and Win7-Ready!
- Under settings | Keyboard | Global Hotkeys you can
define global hotkeys for the following functions:
(every function is followed by their default global hotkey)
play/pause - pause
bring MaPlEr to the front and go back to the program where
you was before - Shift+pause
previous track - ctrl+alt+f9
next track - ctrl+alt+f10
5 seconds backwards - ctrl+alt+f11
5 seconds forward - ctrl+alt+f12
decrease volume - ctrl+alt+f7
increase volume - ctrl+alt+f8
Global hotkey means, that you can press them from
everywhere in windows, and MaPlEr will react on it.
The list has a context menu to use the windows key as a key
modifier and for some special keys, like up and down arrow.
note: scroll lock and print screen cannot be used as global hotkeys.
- now you can use bookmarks even without specifying a play list.
That means: Just listen to one file, press "b" to set
a bookmark, and when you come back to this file,
you can use ctrl+shift+left and -right arrow to jump back
to the position where you was before.
- added extras | ftp. This brings up a dialog where you can
enter a ftp server, and can play files just without
downloading them first.
- Added a new dialog for recording to the radio screen.
Now you can record all stations, no matter which format they
have, you can specify a file name, and/or a start- and
end time for the recording.
- Now MaPlEr supports mp2-, mp1- and aiff-files too.
- the list of missing files when loading a play list,
can now be copied to the clipboard or saved to a file.
- Edit | Clear play list (shift+Delete) will delete all
tracks from the play list, without changing the name of the playlist.
- title | mark all tracks as nice - will do what you think it does. ;-)
You can then unmark several tracks instead of marking
many tracks as nice.
- New setting "calculate exact lengths" added. If this is
enabled, MaPlEr will first scan fast through all files
to find a good estimated length for every track.
Because of many possibilities to convert tracks with many VBR
methods its necessary to scan the whole file, to get an exact lenght.
This is done in the background, if this setting is
enabled - and the progress is shown in the status bar.
Normally there's no need for turning this setting of, except
you're running MaPlEr on a very old machine.
- special | skip time at beginning and - skip time add end lets you
define an amount of time, which is skipped at the
beginning and/or end of each track of a play list.
This is usefull, when every track has a starting
and/or ending phrase, which you don't want to hear,
e.g. with the tracks from AudioBooksForFree.com.
- We have a new file with norwegian radio stations.
changes
- the context menu in the radio screen was replaced by a normal
menu.
- all settings, which are stored for every play list,
have been moved to a new menu called "special".
This means: volume, speed, pitch, frequency and mono/stereo
controls are now part of the new special menu. If you save
a play list, these settings are stored automatically
and are restored when loading the play list the next time.
- the information about
- bitrate (including VBR or not)
- mono or stereo
- skip times
are displayed in the status field.
- MaPlEr should start faster now!
fixed bugs
- the shortcut to change the volume in the radio screen
is now "v" too!
- if you change the order of the columns, the fields for width
are now filled correctly.
- the playing in mono sometimes causes an error message, and, with some
files,
it produces some glitches - fixed.
