Sometimes WMP or other media programs get hung up or don't close when there's a site problem. Try opening the media player you think is being used and close it manually. If that doesn
't work, you may need to restart your system.

Incidentally, you're opening yourself to malware by indiscriminate listening which also may be what's happening.
