Hi,
well the solution that occurs to this linux programmer is to apply allittle dd copping the system to a backup disk then when you whish to use the backup dd the backup from the backup disk onto the normal hardrive and you'r good to go.
The best part about this is assuming you have some bootable media that is accessable you can do it all yourself.
ofcourse this isn't the windows backup just a full system image.
I don't know how helpful this is for windows only though.
