[gui-talk] Uninstalling IE8:

Albert,

Everybody seems to be having different experiences with this version of IE.
That's strange to hear. Some say it downloads and installs itself and is
horrible for various reasons. others say it works fine. And you say your
client can't uninstall it, but we just heard from someone who managed to do
that with only minor problems. Boy, I'm glad I don't have this baby on my
computer yet!

I'm trying to uninstall it for a friend. I'm running it without incident.
There' no immediate advantage to installing it.

Al,

sorry if I'm coming in late on this, but how come you're trying to uninstall

IE 8? I am not even sure if it's in actual release yet, is it? If so, is it
what a reasonable guy like me (haha!) should do, replace IE 7 with it and be

up to date? Or is it sort of a Beta version and you're not happy with
something about it, so you're trying to get it off your system?

as I said, sorry. I just never have understood what's the deal with this
version and whether it's sort of the mandatory new thing and I'm falling
behind.

And I do hope you figure out a way to clean it up or get it off your system,

if that's what's necessary right now.

I can find the icon but 8 won't uninstall. In fact the process won't even
begin after clicking for it. Does anyone know of a good uninstallation
program? I can't find the one I had and can't remember its name. thanks
