Hi Doug and list, Not sure why I had this crazy question to reply to this or
not, but couldn't help wondering if a board game like Scrabble or even
something like Battleship could be done that way. Ken.

Maybe this amuses and impresses me more than it will others, but I
think it's worth mention...

I have discovered that a number of blind Skype users have taken to
playing Uno in Skype conferences. The method is very simple: Each
player uses his or her own Braille deck of Uno cards. The "table,"
virtual though it is, is organized alphabetically by first name of
player, so it will be clear who follows whom. Playing always starts
in alphabetical order, so a reverse makes it go in reverse alphabetical
order. When it's your turn, you play from your deck onto your
discard pile and announce the card. The next player plays a legal
card to follow yours onto his or her own discard pile, etc. The
game works just as usual in all other respects, it's just like
having one huge Uno deck divided into several separate draw piles.
Of course, there's absolutely no reason not to play with a mixture
of blind and sighted players either, and the cost is nil plus the
price of a deck of cards. I'm sure there are other games that could
be made to work like this as well.

We're used to things costing a mint and being a challenge, so this
one just struck me as one of the simplest ways to make an accessible,
international, and totally sight-independent game online.

Hello all,

I just posted Device Status 1.0. This script reads the status of devices in
Device Manager. Below is the change log.

Changes in Device Status 1.0:

The script now works with Vista although differently than XP as described
below.

Under XP pressing Alt-Windows-D will bring up a list of any devices that are
disabled or not working. Arrow to a device and press enter and you will be
focused on that device in Device Manager. Press Escape or the Cancel button
and you will exit the dialog.

Under Vista pressing Alt-Windows-D will focus the first branch in the Device
Manager tree that is expanded. When a branch has a device that is not
working properly, that branch is expanded when you first open Device Manager. You
then have to investigate that branch to find the problem.

Under both operating systems you are informed if there are no bad devices.

I also added the Alt-Windows-E shortcut to open a new message in your
default mail program already addressed to me. I would like to hear how people like
the script and if it does not work as advertised

I hope someone gets some use out of this script. enjoy!

Vic

Using the same programs I haven't ever experienced that problem. Make sure
your status bar in Outlook is checked under tool bars alt V.

For some reason Jaws will not work when I open a message or reply to a

to get it working again?

That's too bad. I guess I'll have to find a new antip spyware program.

Speaking of spyware blockers and such, has anyone out there had luck finding
a spyware remover that effectively
removes System Guard 2009? I am having some success with the version of
Spyware Doctor that is part of the Google
pack, but the interface is a little strange and I have not gotten rid of it
yet. When I tried running Windows Defender, it
ended in an error whenever I did a scan until Spyware Doctor got it partly
removed. If you look at Google search
results, it is really hard to tell what is legitimate and what is not. Any
thoughts?

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

I just posted version 1.1 of my
Mission Impossible script.
This script was just written for fun. It has two dialogs--the first dialog
calls the second.
I had to update to version 1.1.
I inserted a key to force the second dialog to talk while a wav file was
playing.
Again, this is just for fun.
Some of you that are new scripters, like me, you can list the script with
notepad to see how it works. I put in comments to explain sections of the
script.
