All,
WE4Java 0.9.12 is now available on the GW Script Central website. This package is now bundled as a Window-Eyes package file with a wepm extension. Automatic version checking for both the package and for the latest setup.exe is included. Also, the Install Java utility has been reworked to allow much more functionality including being able to switch back and forth between WE4Java and the Java access Bridge with just a button click. The change log for this release is shown below.
Beta Release 0.9.12 - Sunday, 2/15/2009
This release contains the following updates:
* Reworked the install package to be bundled as a Window-Eyes wepm
package file. The main hosted script, wE4Java.vbs, has been extensively
updated to set ClientInformation properties, automatically check for
new versions on script Central, and automatically execute the setup
program when a new package is downloaded.
* The Install Java utility has been extensively updated. The prompt to
install to a default java environment if found is still the first thing.
However, the next screen is a main screen with a List View of the
java environments where WE4Java has been installed. The list shows
the version, date/time, and directory for each installation. There are
also 3 buttons across the top; Browse Folders, Update WE4Java, and Reset to JAB.
To update a directory to the latest WE4Java, just arrow to it and press
enter (the Update WE4Java is the default button). If you want
to reset an environment which was previously using the Java access
Bridge, simply arrow to the directory and press alt+j which activates
the Reset to JAB button. To return a directory back to WE4Java,
simply arrow to it and hit enter again. The first column in the List
View indicates if the environment is set to WE4Java or JAB.
NOTE: If your java directory did not previously contain the Java access Bridge,
pressing the Reset to JAB button will not install it there. You
will get an error screen that indicates that the JAB components were not found.
* Much of the Window-Eyes specific logic has been moved back into the hosted
script file, WE4Java.vbs.
* A bug was fixed wherein using the right arrow key in an edit field
said the word "text" if the end of the data was reached. Now, a brief
sound is played and the words " no more text " are spoken.
