[gui-talk] google has changed and searches are now difficult

Actually, the problem is that there are too many variables. For example, you can set Google, or at least you could, to cause the link you follow in the search results
to open in a new window. If that option was set, BACKSPACE or ALT LEFT ARROW would not work because you would already be as far back as you could be in
that window. You would have to press ALT F4 or maybe CONTROL-W to close that window. This is a part of browsing, that is true, but it could have been affected
by a Google option. Some settings get
applied if you do your searching after logging in using a google account. I gather that some people may routinely do that to allow themselves to change options and
have them stick. It could be that those were the people who experienced a change. It is not always simple to find an answer, especially when those involved may
not even realize some of these variables. For example, if you sign on to Google once, it is possible to get signed on within your account automatically. Anyway, we
have to try to have patience with each other.
