Exciting stuff!  Denver's Jewish Community Center is hosting their first season of the ReelAbilities: Denver Film Festival, streaming virtually this May 5 - 8.  They are providing a high level of access:  "We are delighted by the opportunity to provide a robust catalog of programming for our blind and visually impaired patrons, and are proud to convey that all of our content – not only our films but also our introductions, Q&As, classes, workshops, and panels – will be offered with audio description. " The festival is affordable with no-cost and donation options when you register.  [The audio descriptions  are being provided by local audio description specialist, Bonnie Barlow.]

You can pre-register.  Below is a list of links.  [Note I will also send an e-mail with just the links that are below so you don't have to wade through lots of information to find them.  Access them either here or in that email.]  Please click a program’s individual listing. Then, please click on the “Pre-order now” button (if securing a ticket before the festival begins) or the “Watch now” button (if securing a ticket when the festival is ‘live’ May 5 - 8). If this is your first time using our platform Eventive, you will need to enter your email address and click “continue.” You will then be prompted to enter your Full Name and a Password (which you will need to reenter to confirm) to create an account. You will then be prompted to enter your credit card information, or if you plan to secure a free ticket, you can skip directly to Checkout by clicking on the designated link If you skip ahead to checkout without entering your credit card information, this field will auto-populate to $0.  The order button on the page will say “Pre-ordered successfully” or “Watch now.” You will receive a confirmation email in your inbox.

Once the festival goes “live” you will receive an email indicating “Your pre-order is ready” that will include a link to take you directly to the film page. At that time, you can click on the “Watch now” button to access the content. Once your ordered content becomes available, you will have 4 days to begin accessing the content, and once you have begun, you will have 2 days to finish accessing A suggested price of $6 (if a short film) or $12 (if a feature-length film or supplemental program) will auto-populate in this field if you entered your credit card information. In either circumstance, you can adjust ticket price up or down accordingly. Once you have entered in your desired ticket price, click on the “Pre-order now” or “Watch now” button to process.

If you are accessing a film that is followed by a Q&A, this is considered a “package” screening, comprised of the film and the Q&A as two separate files. These files are listed separately on the right-hand side of the individual catalog listing. For example, one file will be labelled “film title” and the following file will be labelled “film title + Q&A.” You will need to click into each file to play it. The film file will have an introduction video and play directly into the film, whereas the Q&A file will simply play the conversation.
