Greetings:

Here is a procedure that you can use in NVDA to quiet the alerts about
people leaving or joining the meeting. It essentially involves adding three
expressions to NVDA's speech dictionary.

1. Press NVDA with n to enter the NVDA menu

2. Down arrow to Preferences, press right arrow, down arrow to
Speech Dictionaries, and press Right arrow again to highlight Default
Dictionary. Press Enter to open it.

3. Add an entry to the dictionary. In the Pattern field, which is
the first field, enter the following string without the quotes: "^alert$".
Do not enter anything in the replacement field.

4. Now, press Tab four times to get to a radio button which will
say "Anywhere". Arrow down until you get to the Regular Expression radio
button. Tab to Okay and press Enter.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4, adding the following two expressions
(minus the quotes):

"^(.+) has (.+) the meeting$" and

"^(.+) have (.+) the meeting$"

6. Now, press the Okay button to save your additions to the
dictionary.

Cordially,

Curtis Chong
