Hello dear colleagues, brothers and sisters, friends and neighbors. I am thrilled that we have a, “discussion“ list here in Colorado. I love Colorado Talk. I hope that more and more of our friends and colleagues subscribe to the list. I hope that each of you will promote this list in your chapter meetings and elsewhere. It’s a wonderful, safe place to share information. A great place to discuss and even debate the challenges and possibilities. I would like to emphasize, a safe place to discuss and debate the opportunities and or problems which lie ahead. We have recently enjoyed an outstanding state convention. Our affiliate truly is based on the premise that, together, together, with love, with love, hope and determination we transform dreams into reality. That is the motto by which we conduct business. In my view, it has been the underpinning of this discussion list. It is important that we bring our diverse views to our discussions in a way that is kind, understanding and appreciative of each one of our members. We do not have to agree. But I am convinced that we must be agreeable. I write this post because as I scrolled through the posts I began to notice a little bit of A harsh tone, a critical tone. I then read Renee‘s observation. I agree with her. This is a list based on sharing the philosophy, generosity ideas and opinions from each member. Now, when it comes to what’s accessible and what isn’t. I would be the last person on gods green earth to talk about this issue intelligently. And while I have the deepest respect for everyone’s observations and opinions on this issue. I am prone to except and act upon the guidance I get from my long-standing colleagues and thought leaders like Curtis Chong. If Jesica Beecham posts on wellness I am likely to give her comments great credence. She’s a subject matter expert. If Dan Berk posts about social media. I am very likely to give his experience and knowledge defferense. If Scott offers an opinion on the law. Although I realize that there may be other legal opinions. I am more likely to give his opinion greater weight in my mind. If Eliza offers her opinion about Braille. I will likely except that opinion. I mean, I’m clueless about the UEB code. By saying these things I am in no way discounting the knowledge and experience offered by others. I am saying that I will go into battle with these expert colleagues. If they tell me that something is worth fighting for. I will fight for it alongside of these guys. I know very little about The real profound it needs of our colleagues in rural Colorado. But if Margaret, our president on the western slope or Rene post about the challenges of isolation and lack of service being faced by our colleagues who don’t live on the front range. I am likely to do all I can to support their initiatives. None of this should be taken to suggest that I always believe that Curtis, Dan, Scott, Rene and others are always right. But in less I determine otherwise I will take their leader ship, direction and expertise to the bank,

At Your Service,
Kevan Worley I will follow them to the picket line. I will sign petitions and participate in email writing campaigns to public officials and corporations. And I know that they will do the same for me. This doesn’t mean that I will not consider the views of everyone. But the cats I have referenced above and many others have served with distinction for many years. They deserve my respect and loyalty. I expect the same in return. So, when folks express opinions about access technology or advocacy or philosophy I hope we will all do so with kindness and understanding. There’s no reason to be catty or snarky or mean-spirited. If you have had no trouble accessing this Disney site. Good on you. More power to you. If you can articulate the equipment you use and the steps you take. That would be outstanding. But I hope we can do it in a way that honors everyone. In the meantime, if Curtis Chong tells me to raise hell with Disney. Hell will be raised. Here is a man who has been among our elected and or appointed leader ship for 40 years. He has never let me astray yet. As far as I know. He was using TECHNOLOGIES before many on this list were born. It is really important that we push back on Curtis a little bit. Just because something worked yesterday doesn’t mean it will work today or tomorrow. But when we state our views let’s do it with grace, inclusion and love. Thanks so much for reading my views. I appreciate you guys

They also have an act that has guidelines so those of us regular blind people that are just trying to make it in this crazy world will never win this debate. What we say really will not count for much in my opinion. It will be a certain few that will decide what is and is not "accessible" for us all, unfortunately or fortunately depending on your point of view.
