has planned a number of activities to keep the kiddos busy.  Although there

parents if their names are called.  Also, parents are responsible for

who wants to learn more about independent     travel.  Topics to be
addressed include: using a GPS       device, use of a cane versus a dog,
when a blind child      should be introduced to using a cane, preferred cane
techniques, and methodologies in teaching orientation        and mobility. 

 

        We have several instructors who will be happy to work     with
participants individually.  Sighted individuals will have an opportunity to
use a cane and sleep shades.

social hour with other parents and families    before the seminar begins.

        Join us for a look at what it takes for a blind child to be
accepted by peers as "just another kid on the block".  A       panel of
esteemed NFB of Colorado mentors will reflect    on their experiences as
children and interact with the      parents in a round-table discussion.
School       psychologist, Christine Cde Baca, a member of the      Bully
Prevention Task Force, will address the problems         of bullying and
teasing in school. 

>From 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. we will hold CO-POBC Board Meeting and
Elections. Two door prizes of $25 each will be drawn at the conclusion of
the Board Meeting.  One    prize will go to a person who has entered their
name on the CO-POBC voicemail before October 25, 2012. (303-778-1130, ext.

Items will be presented for auction at various times throughout the
convention. There will be an auction segment at the NFB of Colorado
Reception on Friday night (October 26).  Our banquet is always a highlight
of the weekend so please join us as we auction off more packages then. We
will accept cash, checks or credit cards. All payments need to be received
by noon on Sunday, October 28th. Individual restrictions and expiration
dates apply. Please see the items for details.
