Dear chapter members,

We are now shifting into high gear for the planning of our September 17 Unqork for Braille fundraiser event. We need everyone’s help. What you can all do right now is to solicit donations for our popular raffle baskets. I will attach a document with a list of donations that we have gotten in the past to give you some ideas of where to start. When you do decide to contact a business, please put this out on the List Serve so that we don’t end up with more than one member contacting a business. Also, please let me know when you receive a donation or gift certificate so we can keep an up-to-date ongoing list.

Please also start advertising the event and inviting guests. Doug will be contacting the list soon as he will have the tickets available for everyone.

Remember that people can also reserve their spot and charge by phone by simply contacting Corey. This information is all in the event flyer which I will also attach.

The tickets this year will cost $25 and will include 4 1 ounce pours of assorted wines, or a single 4 ounce glass of any one wine. For people who choose not to drink wine, there will be the option of a soda or bottled water. There may be the possibility of also having beer available and we will keep you posted on this. as before, we will have some appetizers, such as cheese, salami, crackers, veggies, dip.

The musicians from our last event are not available, but Bob Sellers has arranged for Jean Walker to perform and she is excellent.

Please contact me by email or phone if you have any questions.

Landline phone 360-944-2051.

If anyone needs for me to mail them paper copies of the event flyer and/or in-kind donation letter please let me know. You can also print your own copies or just email these to people you choose to invite to the event or solicit for donations.

Let’s make this a great event, and raise lots of money for the chapter.

Patricia

Raffle basket items that we already have:

An Afghan that Kaye is making.

One bottle of Pinot noir wine from 15 mile winery in the Dalles.

Gift certificate for brunch for 2 people from Bleu Door Bakery.

Patricia will be contacting the Vancouver symphony for a donation.
