Dear Marci,

Thanks for notifying us about Maria. I will definitely hope she gets better. This virus is a gruesome thing and is very efficient at what it does, ridding you of your motivation, determination, and making your bones raddle with pain as if more than 1 million phones, canes, basketballs or what have you, that are hard pounding on you everywhere. You cannot walk, and you cannot move. I know this because I've caught it myself this past summer, from my mother who does agricultural / essential frontline work for our economy. So yes, there's that, and I do hope and pray that Maria gets better.

I wish everyone wellness, good health and good spirit this upcoming holiday and a new year full of opportunity, prosperity, accessibility, equity and the ability to bump into each other again during an in-person, physical blindness event such as a Convention. May every of your dreams and goals come true this 2021. Take care and have an awesome day!

Best,
Humberto

I wanted to let everyone know that Maria Bradford is in the hospital with COVID. She gave her permission for me to post this. She has had the virus since early December. She went to the hospital last Thursday. I have spoken with her twice. Tonight she was more alert but she is very ill.

Maria told me to tell everyone two things. First, she wants you to contact your doctor right away if you have the virus and start to feel worse. At first it just felt like a symptoms of a cold, then she started to feel a little better and then, she said, it hit her whole body very hard. Second, she wanted to wish all who are celebrating a Merry Christmas.

Even now she thinks about and asks about others. That is Maria. She is a smart and kind person and a long-time Federationist.

She does have her phone with her. I’m not posting the number since I didn’t ask permission to do that but if you have it you can call her. Due to COVID restrictions on visitors the hospital has been inundated with calls so they are only allowing one person to get updates from nursing staff. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I will post updates.
