Hi all,
Reading Chris Danielson's most recent post, it occurs to me to wonder why Washington, the home of such cutting-edge IT, can't update it's own statutes and regs to require state agencies to ensure electronic accessibility as well. With a blind lieutenant governor presiding over the Senate using his own, newly installed IT to run the sessions, could it be time to draft and propose amendments to Title 49:60 RCW and it's WAC's, to propose a new statute all together holding agencies accountable for accessibility, to review the enforcement structure for potency, or to seek an appropriate executive order? I don't think this should be DSB's Job anymore, since many blind people aren't, and shouldn't be, clients.
Thanks.
