> Dr. Stefik, who started out working with WSSB over six years ago to improve computer programming for blind/visually impaired (BVI) students, has been officially recognized by the White House/President Obama – “Champions of Change – One Voice Can Change the World” (please see the link below). Since the first year of working with staff and students at WSSB through the past three years where teachers from throughout the U.S./Canada come to the WSSB campus for a week long training. Dr. Stefik, graduate students, WSSB staff and other teachers throughout the U.S. continue to make improvements in this important research which increases access for BVI students throughout the U.S. and Canada. This has been a great partnership! Both WSSB and the Pacific Foundation for Blind Children (PFBC), located on the campus of WSSB has helped support this work.
>
> NOTE: Dr. Stefik began his work through Central Washington University, then moved to Southern Illinois University and currently is located at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Andi has been a great partner and we are extremely pleased with the recognition he has received.
