Amen!

The NFBW website has been updated to reflect the election of Marci, Debby
and Corey.

Congratulations to all.

And thank you for the kind words.

Let's go build the Federation.

Subject: [nfbwatlk] Convention Results!!

First, it's time for Monday Night Football. Go HAWKS!!!

Now, the convention was great over the weekend. Mike's agenda was packed
with interesting presentations. From the Clark County official for
Developmental Disabilities, (not her actual title) talking about fair wages
for disabled folks, to the usual suspects from the state agencies, to
numerous *outstanding* (and I don't usually use that adjective,)
presentations by Anil Lewis, as the national representative for National
Federation of the Blind President, Mark Riccobono, the two and a half days
just flew by. Anil is a straight talking, quick thinking, and challenging
speaker in all situations, and I thoroughly enjoyed his stuff.

Congratulations to the newly elected state board members: Marci Carpenter as
President, Mike Mello, First Vice President, Maria Bradford Second Vice
President, Debby Phillips, Secretary, Cindy Bennett, Treasurer, Noel
Nightingale and Corey Grandstaff board members. Of course, Betty Watson and
Gary Mackenstadt were not up for election, as their terms expire next year.
Marci Carpenter is the delegate to the national convention, and Mike Freeman
is the alternate.

The banquet was super this year. Don Mitchell was an excellent MC keeping
everyone involved throughout the evening. Marci was the scholarship chair
this year, and made the formal presentation of scholarships to Ali Steenis,
and Cindy Bennett during the festivities. Congratulations to the winners of
those awards.

As we left the convention, we were all extremely grateful to honor Mike
Freeman for his tremendous work as the long time State President, and
charged and ready to help the new President, Marci Carpenter to move this
affiliate forward, and increase membership, and activities during the coming
year. I know Marci is going to do the office proud, and the NFB and our
affiliate will be the better for it. Congratulations again to all for a very
successful convention, and let's go build the Federation. Live the life you
want!!!
