Mike,

That would be funny if it weren't so discouraging.  I hope the dog ate the
map, or better yet the cop.  Just kidding, though his behavior doesn't
reassure me about the quality of law enforcement.

Certainly gives you perspective.  On the other hand, you gotta wonder about
police that can't tell the difference between a cane and a samurai sword.
