FYI,

WTBBL as you know has been very helpful to the OSOS Elections Division.

Thanks,

Tom

Last night Danielle Miller accepted an award from Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn recognizing our Washington Talking Book & Braille Library for its work in empowering individuals with disabilities. The event was organized by the Seattle Human Services Coalition. Read more about this in today's From Our Corner blog, http://blogs.sos.wa.gov/FromOurCorner/index.php/2012/06/more-kudos-for-wtbbl/. Further, the Mayor declared yesterday Washington Talking Book & Braille Library day!

Also, yesterday I had the pleasure of talking about WTBBL with Pamela Davenport of the National Library Service (NLS) who made a consulting visit Monday and Tuesday. She said, and I paraphrase, "I am impressed with the staff. They are doing a terrific job and are in compliance [with ALA standards] as much as possible given the circumstances." We expect a good written report from Ms. Davenport. She was also able to attend the award event mentioned above.

Here's a shout out to Danielle and her staff for the great work they do every day at the Washington Talking Book & Braille Library.
