[nfbwatlk] FW: [Nfbnet-master-list] Fwd: Vanda Sleep Study

No question about it! And yet some blind persons have a heck of a time
getting the good doctors to give them real sleep lab test for sleep apnea
rather than going ape over the possibility that said blind persons might
have circadian rhythm problems. Fortunately, I was not one of those. The lab
made no fuss at all about my blindness. By contrast, I gather Nadine
Jacobson had problems that her husband Steve suspected were due to sleep
apnea. He had to really make a noise to get the doctors to give Nadine a
sleep apnea test as opposed to worrying about melatonin levels. Wonder of
wonders, Nadine *did* have sleep apnea.

I wonder if many people with sleep problems (sighted or blind) would benefit
from a sleep study to check for sleep apnea. Many people have it and don't
know it.

Hi,
Ditto! I not only have sleep apnea, but whatever they call that disorder of

sleep related to the sleep cycle being unregulated because of no light. I
am a terrible night-owl and luckily I work from noon-8pm which helps some.

They contacted me about the sleep study and I would have done it but I am
too plus-sized for their study, which upsets me!
Thanks
Lauren
