Subject: Sound Transit Light Rail Update - Public Hearing on Fare Policy
2/5/09

You are subscribed to Link Project Updates for Sound Transit.

In the summer of 2009, Sound Transit's Link light rail trains will begin
carrying riders between downtown Seattle and Tukwila. By late 2009, service
will extend all the way to SeaTac Airport. But before service begins, Sound
Transit must decide how much passengers will pay.

Sound Transit is proposing a distance-based fare for Link, with discounts
for youth, seniors and persons with disabilities. Under that system, Link
passengers will pay a base price for a ride, with the cost increasing the
farther you go. Complete details can be found online at
www.soundtransit.org/linkfares

Sound Transit is presenting its Link light rail fare policies and pricing
options at a public hearing February 5, 2009 and would love to hear from
you!

PUBLIC HEARING on Feb. 5, 2009
Noon to 12:30 p.m.

The public's comments will be presented to the Sound Transit Board in
February 2009 for consideration in setting Link's fare structure and
pricing. The Board's decision is expected in spring 2009.
