Welcome to the 2026 National federation of the Blind of Washington state
Convention, Ignite the spark, empower the journey. State convention will
take place February 26-March 1, 2026, at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel
Seattle Airport located at 18740 International BLVD, Seattle, WA 98188. . We
are excited to announce our national representative this year will be Norma
Crosby, treasurer of the National Federation of the Blind, as well as
President of the National Federation of the Blind of Texas. This event will
be packed with various events and gatherings to learn about the advocacy
efforts in the State of Washington related to blindness, as well as engaging
technology and job seeking seminars, and fun social activities. State
Convention will feature sessions geared toward all individuals including
youth, parents, seniors, educators, etc. Therefore, go ahead and book your
hotel and register for this exciting event. See the attached agenda. We

*	Convention registration: Convention registration this year is $30
with the option to purchase a ticket for our banquet meal Saturday evening.
Banquet tickets will be $75. The registration deadline is February 15, 2026.

*	Hotel Booking: Please reserve your hotel room at the Doubletree by
Hilton Hotel Seattle Airport. Room rates are $139 per night plus taxes and
fees. The deadline for booking a hotel room is February 2, 2026. Note: If
you are using screen reading software, once you enter the date fields,
pressing space and then using your arrow keys should allow you to choose a

*	Educator training with Center for assistive Technology and Training
(CATT) NW. CATT NW will be hosting a training February 27, 2026, from
9:00pm-4:00pm titled Docx and Dots. This interactive, in-person workshop
will focus on how to manage documents for braille readers using the braille
displays from APH (Chameleon, Mantis, Monarch), participants will take a
deep dive into best practices for teaching students how to manage and work
with documents in the K-12 classroom. ACVREP and Washington state Clock
hours will be available. Registration deadline for this workshop is February
16, 2026.
