Hello,

Melinda Latham, Chair of our Youth Outreach Program, has asked me to
forward
this item. Michigan is counting on Georgia and Tennessee to fill a
couple
of busses to Orlando! (smile)

This will be a great adventure for everyone who participates. Federation
philosophy and enthusiasm will prevail in the land of Mickey.

Please feel free to contact me or Melinda with any questions.

Warm Federation Regards,

Fred

Florida Proposal

The National Federation of the Blind of Michigan Youth Outreach Program
is preparing for a road trip. We will be heading for the warm weather
in Orlando Florida. We plan to visit Walt Disney World, Kennedy Space
Center and various other educational attractions.

Who: Youth between the ages of 12-17 and adult mentors 21 years and
older

When: Saturday, November 22, 2008- Saturday, November 29

What: An exciting, fun-filled, learning excursion to one of the most
popular travel destinations in the United States. We will be visiting
local attractions such as Disney World, Kennedy Space Center, popular
restaurants, and even a petting zoo.

Where: from Michigan to Florida. We will stop in various states to
pick up their youth and participate in an activity.

Why: This trip will help develop orientation and mobility skills, daily
living skills and to build friendships.

What each state will be responsible for:

Fred Says "It will be more than getting the kids to the bus."

We suggest that each state president appoint a youth coordinator for
this event.

Each state will be responsible to provide funding for their youth and
mentors We are proposing a graduated scale for the bus cost and then a
per person cost for rooms, food, park admission and additional costs. I
have given this information below:

Bus

Charges for buses will be prorated according to distance from Orlando
and number of participants. We are requesting a bus deposit for each
state of $500 nonrefundable by June 1, 2008. The remaining balance will
be due November 1, 2008.

Suggested states for bus pick up are:

Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Northern
Florida.

If you are not located in one of these states and would like to meet us
there, you may do so and pay the bus cost for that state

Per Person Cost:

$675 (minus $100 nonrefundable deposit paid for by the participants
and mentors.) Total cost to the affiliate $575.

Mentors will receive their deposit back on the trip.
