Good evening everyone,
Those who visit the NFB of Tennessee Web Site know that the home page
includes a very large Tennessee State Flag and a less prominent NFBTN Logo.
Just over a week ago the National Federation of the Blind of Missouri
launched a new affiliate Web Site. I worked with them to develop a home page
layout which displays the NFB logo prominently in the upper left-hand corner
of the screen, and a much smaller image of their state flag in the lower
right-hand corner. Since I was concerned about the gaudy appearance of the
TN Flag on the home page and the incredibly large amount of alt text I
applied the Missouri layout to the Tennessee Site's home page. Now the
description of the Tennessee Flag appears in a caption below it rather than
in the alt text. The NFB to Tennessee Logo now appears in the upper
left-hand corner of the screen giving the home page a much cleaner
appearance and making it easier to read. Furthermore it made it possible to
eliminate some table elements on that page as well making the layout simpler
for a developer to maintain in the future. Hope you like the new home page
lay-out.
