I"m with MIke. HOwever I have friends who've had to depend
on paratransit because of problems other than blindness, and
I've observed some common facets of the system over the
years, including:
mOre than one paratransit vehicle shows up to pick up riders
who are all going from same point of departure to same
destination. <Hmmm> sEems rather ludicrous to me.
even with the call for service being placed a day or two
before as is required a user may not make his/her doctor's
appointment or dialysis session on time.
THen there are those whiners who think they need paratransit
just because they're blind, even though they live where
fixed route service is readily available.
I haven't had the need yet ot experience what the situation
is like in Memphis. I live about 30 miles out and most of
the time when I go into the city my lady goes with me.
