Hello Dominique and listers,
Please forgive me for being a little ahead of the game, but since I've been
over whelmed with the number and variety of Podcasts now available from many
organizations and institutions here in the states and abroad assuming this
newsletter will be recorded perhaps you could offer it on both cassette, and
as an .MP3 file one can download from the NFBTN Web Site, or we could make
it available as a podcast to be delivered automatically to those who
subscribe to the feed. The Texas Association of Blind Students, (Also called
TABS) and Thru Our Eyes all ready offer podcasts of their productions you
can receive automatically whenever they're released. This is food for
thought from your state affiliate Webmaster.

Subject: [Tn-talk] NFB of TN Newsletter ideas
Hello everyone,
I have been put in charge of the newsletter for the NFB of Tennessee
and I wanted to let you know about the ideas I had as well as get
suggestions about some things you would like to see. The newsletter
committee and I have decided to use the Braille Monitor as a template
for our own newsletter so some things will look the same. The main
categories in the newsletter are listed below:
Convention Bulletins (for state and national)
Special Events
NFB of Tennessee News and Updates
Chapter Happenings
Division Spotlight
Classifieds
We have not at this time decided to add recipes to the newsletter
categories but if it is requested we can do so.
Two categories that are not found in the Braille monitor are the
Chapter Happenings and the Division Spotlight. The newsletter
committee and I felt like we needed to have more communication between
chapters and that having local chapters send in an informal report
every once and a while would help us know what's going on in the rest
of the state.
The division spotlight is something that we came up with in order to
introduce you to the members of the two divisions and the roles that
they play in either the student or merchant communities. Therefore,
in each edition a division member will have the opportunity to "be in
the spotlight."
I am also writing you to ask for your help. As you know, the whole
point of having a newsletter is to share news and we can't do that
without your help. So if you would like to write an article, have an
event you want to advertise, or want to put something in a classified
ad please send me an e-mail at dlawless86 at gmail.com.
Last of all, there is one thing missing from all of this information.
. . a name. We haven't found a good name for the newsletter and would
like to hear some of your ideas. So if you have a catchy name that you
think would sound good feel free to e-mail me.
If you have any questions, comments, suggestions or concerns, feel
free to e-mail me at dlawless86 at gmail.com and feel free to pass this
on to anyone who isn't on the list but who would like to contribute!
Best Wishes,
Domonique Lawless
