Hello everyone,
Mary and I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season as we are
in a not so warm and sunny San Antonio Texas. New videos about the
Kurzweil-National Federation of the Blind Reader and the inaugural program
in a new series being produced by the NFB Jernigan Institute has also been
added to your affiliate Web Site.
Straight Talk About Vision Loss With Dr. Z is a new video series to be
offered via the World-Wide Web. Hosted by Dr. Betsy Zaborowski it is a
conversational style presentation that will feature speakers discussing
critical issues of concern to the blind. The first episode features James
Gashel, Director of Strategic Initiatives for the National Federation of the
Blind who talks about the history of reading machines for the blind, the
development of the Kurzweil-NFB Reader and includes a brief demonstration of
this revolutionary technology for the blind. Since these videos concerning
the KNFB Reader you can view or download them from the NFB of Tennessee Web
Site. The direct URL is:

The national Web Site features an Audio/Video Center where one can view
these, and other video content produced in recent months. Since the NFBTN
site contains a large amount of audio and video content I'd like to know if
folks would like me to build a similar center on the affiliate Web Site?
Without a doubt the NFB of Tennessee has the largest amount of audio and
video content of any affiliate site I know of and have visited thanks to
David Andrews and our national center as well as the NFB Jernigan Institute.
If you would like me to place them all in a single area I can do that in the
coming months. Just think guys. You went from virtually no Web presence to
having one of the best affiliate Web sites of all of our state affiliates
with more chapter sites and discussion groups to come. We're beginning
construction of the Memphis Federation of the Blind Web Site and expect to
have it fully operational early in 2007. It has been a pleasure to create
and assist you folks in establishing and enhancing your Web presence. Now to
eat supper. Best wishes for a happy holiday season.
